CPR on SJX 2.5-Hour

The St John Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course gives you the skills to perform CPR on a person who is unconscious and not breathing normally in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines. You will gain the knowledge and confidence to perform CPR on an adult, child and infant.

The St John Advanced Resuscitation course is a course designed for experienced first aiders who use specific equipment and often work in higher risk environments. This course develops advanced skills for providing life support and focuses on the use of oxygen delivery systems and in-depth knowledge and skill in the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AED).

This course also covers the skills and knowledge required to use specialised equipment in the provision of resuscitation and oxygen therapy in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.

This remote area first aid course is specifically designed to meet the first aid needs of bushwalkers, wilderness guides, and people who work or live in remote locations.

The course covers everything from comprehensive first aid treatments to aeromedical evacuation, long-term care, self-care, and contingency planning. This course is focused on the safety of the first aider and extended care of an ill or injured casualty where help is likely to be delayed or inaccessible.

This course covers the proper administration of paracetamol and methoxyflurane to relieve pain. It includes information about the use, storage, and documentation of administration as well as ongoing monitoring of the casualty. Participants are required to undertake or present evidence for HLTAID011 Provide First Aid completed within 12 months, prior to commencing PUAEME008 Provide pain management.

The course is applicable for personnel from emergency services, volunteer organisations or organisations that provide a medically supervised first aid service.

The 2 day Mental Health First Aid course teaches adults (18 years and over) how to provide initial support to adults who are developing a mental illness or experiencing a mental health crisis. The course curriculum is based on the Mental Health Guidelines and is accredited by Mental Health First Aid Australia.

The refresher course allows participants who have previously completed a Standard Mental Health First Aid® course to refresh their knowledge and skills. The course also offers Accredited Mental Health First AidersTM an opportunity to extend their accreditation for a further 3 years.

With mental health issues becoming more and more common, first aiders at work and at home are now being called to help with conditions related to the mind. Mental health issues can be difficult to recognise and frightening to deal with. Early recognition and intervention are key to effectively assisting in mental health emergencies. Our courses are delivered by experienced professionals who give you strong skills to recognise the signs of mental disorders early, effective strategies to assist, and the confidence to use them.

This course is designed to equip parents and grandparents with the knowledge to manage basic first aid situations specific to children up to the age of seven.

Our First Aid for Seniors course equips caregivers, family members, and others supporting older adults with practical, hands-on skills to manage common age-related emergencies. It focuses on real-world scenarios such as falls, chronic conditions, and recognising signs of heart attack, stroke, or sudden illness, helping participants respond with confidence, calm, and informed care when it matters most.

Our Pet First Aid course is designed to give pet owners and animal carers the confidence and skills to respond effectively in an emergency. Just like humans, pets can experience accidents, illness, or sudden health issues, and knowing what to do in those critical first moments can make all the difference.

This course provides participants with the skills to manage common first aid situations that can arise in an electrical services industry environment, including rescue from low voltage panels. It is suitable for people employed as electricians and others employed in the electrical services industry.
