Whether you volunteer as a first aid officer or a community transport volunteer, with St John QLD, you’ll learn new skills like endorsed first aid qualifications, build strong relationships with new people you meet, and work with emergency services to make a real contribution to your community. You’ll also receive a range of fantastic benefits.

Volunteer

Provide first aid and medical services at events; we will provide you with ongoing training and development, uniform and equipment to fulfil your role. Our Event Health Services (EHS) team attend events all across the state, providing support and first aid services to our local and regional communities.

Youth

The St John Youth Program focuses on first aid, leadership opportunities, and community service. It’s a fun and engaging program designed for young people to build confidence and find their crew! You might discover an interest in a healthcare career or develop a passion for helping your community.

Transport

Working as a larger team, volunteers provide door-to-door transport in a St John vehicle. This is a safe and affordable option for essential travel to appointments and other vital services.

Our team of compassionate volunteers provide connection and friendship by visiting people in our older community either in their own home or in an Aged Care Facility on a regular basis.

Accompanied Activities Volunteering

Volunteers assist our clients through accompanied shopping, bill paying, attendance at appointments and other social outings.

Social Trip Volunteer

Join our valued community clients as they enjoy a range of exciting social outings, offering a diverse array of activities to connect you with fellow enthusiasts!

Telephone Services Volunteer

Committed volunteers provide regular phone calls to older people in our community. These calls provide positive and uplifting conversation and provide much needed friendship.

Location: various funded locations in Qld

CPR Lab Volunteer

Help promote life-saving skills like First Aid and CPR at events and expos. As a volunteer, you'll engage with the public to sell first aid products, training and our First Aid in Schools program.

Location: South East Queensland

FAiS Volunteer

Our team of volunteer educators teach primary school students about the importance of First Aid and what to do in the event of an emergency.

Location: Brisbane, Gold Coast, Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast, Townsville, Mackay and Wide-Bay area

supply chain volunteer

Working alongside office staff, volunteers can support in many ways by providing administrative and warehouse support. Roles and hours are flexible.
