Our Community Calls service (formerly Silver Cord) is a Queensland-wide telephone reassurance program designed to improve social connections. If you or a loved one are feeling lonely, isolated, or would simply enjoy an extra check-in or chat during the week, our service can help.

We provide regular, pre-scheduled calls tailored to your needs, all delivered by friendly staff and volunteers. You can look forward to hearing a familiar, caring voice, bringing comfort, conversation, and connection right to your home.

How We Can Connect

Friendly Calls: Enjoy a friendly chat over the phone with a like-minded companion, helping you stay socially connected and engaged.

Security Calls: We provide daily check-in calls to ensure your wellbeing. If there’s no answer, we take immediate action, including contacting emergency contacts or, if necessary, arranging a welfare check with the Queensland Ambulance Service.

Respite Calls: Respite calls offer support after returning home from the hospital or while family and friends are away, ensuring you always have someone to listen and check in on your safety and comfort.

Fees

We pride ourselves on affordable and transparent pricing. Fees are based on funding eligibility. Eligible clients can access subsidised Community Calls through the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (dependent on location).
