This course is designed for those working in high-risk environments, supporting large groups or facilities, or where access to help may be delayed. It provides advanced first aid skills to manage major incidents, trauma, sudden cardiac arrest, and emotionally disturbed or drug-affected casualties.
Delivery Mode & Duration
- This is a 3 day face-to-face course.
- Participants who have completed HLTAID011 Provide First Aid in last 12 months may be entitled to an exemption from the first day.
Entry Requirements/Prerequisites
- Must be able to perform CPR on a manikin on the floor for 2 minutes.
- Are required to bring a mobile device or tablet with internet connection to the face-to-face session.
What certification do you get?
This is an accredited course. On successful completion of this course, you will be issued a statement of attainment in:
- HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
- HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid
- HLTAID015 Provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy
St John Ambulance advises, in accordance with The Safe Work Australia model Code of Practice: First Aid in the Workplace and the guidelines of the Australian Resuscitation Council, first aid skills are renewed every 3 years and resuscitation skills are renewed every 12 months.
