St John Queensland has released its latest Group Social Trip calendars for April, May and June 2026, offering even more opportunities for people across Queensland to get out, connect with others and enjoy memorable experiences in their community.
The new calendars are packed with a variety of outings designed to encourage social connection, independence and wellbeing. From crowd favourites like op shopping adventures, elegant high tea outings and engaging museum visits, to informative sessions, the upcoming trips offer something for everyone.
Bookings will open in stages across the regions:
- Thursday 19 March – Bundaberg, Hervey Bay and Maryborough
- Thursday 26 March – Brisbane North, Redcliffe Peninsula & Caboolture
Eligible registered clients are encouraged to secure their place early, as many popular trips fill quickly.
Strengthening social connection
Social connection plays a vital role in maintaining physical, mental and emotional wellbeing, particularly for older Australians. Regular opportunities to spend time with others can help reduce loneliness, build confidence and support people to remain active participants in their community.
Through its Group Social Trips program, St John Queensland provides safe, supported outings that allow people to explore new places, meet new friends and enjoy shared experiences.
Melissa Hinton, Group Travel Coordinator, said the trips offer much more than just a day out.
“Our social trips create opportunities for people to build friendships, share experiences and feel connected to their community. Something as simple as enjoying a cup of tea together, grabbing lunch or visiting a local attraction can have a powerful impact on someone’s wellbeing and sense of belonging.”
Learning about the new Aged Care Act
St John Queensland knows that information is key to understanding the ongoing changes in the Australian aged care landscape. To support our clients, this quarterly calendar also includes aged care information sessions across all regions. These sessions will feature presentations from our in-house aged care expert, with personalised information tailored to our clients.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about their rights and what the new Aged Care Act means for them, ask questions and better understand the services and supports available to them – as well as what to do when things don’t go to plan.
