
Course Description
Provide First Aid: The flagship St John Ambulance first aid course covers a comprehensive range of topics to enable participants to confidently manage emergency situations and provide a first aid response to a casualty. It covers the most common first aid injuries and illnesses.
Asthma and Anaphylaxis: The Asthma course equips participants with the skills to assess asthma risks, create emergency management strategies, and provide asthma-related first aid in the workplace. It covers asthma triggers, signs, symptoms, and emergency management techniques.
The Anaphylaxis course trains participants to provide first aid for anaphylaxis until medical help arrives, including identifying and responding to anaphylaxis, and developing strategies to prevent allergen exposure and minimise related risks.
Delivery Mode & Duration
This is a 2 day face-to-face course.
Entry Requirements/Prerequisites
- Must be able to perform CPR on a manikin on the floor for 2 minutes.
- Are required to bring a mobile device or tablet with internet connection to the face-to-face session.

What certification do you get?
This is an accredited course. On successful completion of this course, you will be issued a statement of attainment in:
- HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
- 22578VIC Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis
- 22556VIC Course in the Management of Asthma Risks and Emergencies in the Workplace
St John Ambulance advises, in accordance with The Safe Work Australia model Code of Practice: First Aid in the Workplace and the guidelines of the Australian Resuscitation Council, first aid skills are renewed every 3 years and resuscitation skills are renewed every 12 months.
