Standard Mental health First Aid refresher Course
This refresher course is a 4-hour face-to-face course that allows people who have previously completed the 12 hour Standard Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course to refresh their knowledge and skills.
For people who are Accredited MHFAiders, the Refresher course offers an opportunity to extend their accreditation for a further three years if completed between 6 months prior to the MHFA expiry date and 3 months after the expiry date.
Mental health first aid is the help provided to a person who is developing a mental health problem, or who is in a mental health crisis (e.g., the person is suicidal or has had a traumatic experience). Like physical first aid, mental health first aid is given until the person receives professional help or until the crisis resolves.
Mental health first aid strategies are taught in evidence-based training courses authorised by Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Australia and delivered by accredited MHFA Instructors across the country.
St John Queensland offers MHFA Courses as authorised by MHFA Australia, delivered by Instructors who are currently accredited by MHFA Australia.
This is a non-accredited course. On successful completion of this course you will be issued a Certificate of Attendance.
