Description

The flagship St John Ambulance first aid course covers a comprehensive range of topics to enable participants to confidently manage emergency situations and provide a first aid response to a casualty. It covers the most common first aid injuries and illnesses.

Certificates

This is an accredited course. On successful completion of this course you will be issued a statement of attainment in:

HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support
HLTAID011 Provide First Aid

St John Ambulance advises, in accordance with The Safe Work Australia model Code of Practice: First Aid in the Workplace and the guidelines of the Australian Resuscitation Council, first aid skills are renewed every 3 years and resuscitation skills are renewed every 12 months.

Delivery Mode & Duration

We offer a variety of delivery methods to suit your needs. You can attend a Public Course selected from the list below. You can also request this course to be delivered on-site at your workplace or a venue of your choosing. Please contact us for further information.

Option 1: 1 Day – No e-Learning

This is a full-day face-to-face course.

Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

  • Must be able to perform CPR on a manikin on the floor for 2 minutes.

Option 2: Blended Course – Mandatory e-Learning + 5-Hours Face-to-Face

This is a half-day face-to-face course.

Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

  • Must be able to perform CPR on a manikin on the floor for 2 minutes.
  • If the online mandatory e-Learning is not completed prior to the course date, students will not be permitted to enter the class and will not receive certification.

Option 3: Online Blended Course – Mandatory e-Learning + 5-Hours online

Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

  • Must be able to perform CPR on a manikin on the floor for 2 minutes.
  • If the online mandatory e-Learning is not completed prior to the course date, students will not be permitted to enter the class and will not receive certification.
  • Students are required to perform assessment tasks on another person, who acts as the ‘mock casualty’. Students need to arrange a second person to join them for 15 mins in the second half of the class.
