Our First Aid for Seniors course is an invaluable resource for those who wish to provide safe, attentive and informed care for older adults but also for caregivers, family members, and anyone responsible for the well-being of senior-aged individuals. Recognising that seniors may have specific health conditions and vulnerabilities, this course equips caregivers with the practical skills and knowledge needed to manage common age-related emergencies. From handling falls and managing chronic conditions to recognising signs of heart attack, stroke, or sudden illness, the training focuses on the scenarios caregivers are most likely to encounter.
Participants will receive hands-on instruction on how to respond with confidence and calm, ensuring that they are prepared to protect and support their loved ones in critical moments. This course is an invaluable resource for those who wish to provide safe, attentive, and informed care for the seniors in their lives.
This course content varies by location and may cover some or all of the following:
- Process of Aging
- Heart attack and stroke
- Diabetes
- Cuts and Scrapes
- Falls (and fractures)
- Poisoning and pill confusion
- Heat and Cold-Related Illness
There is no formal assessment as part of this course, but an opportunity is provided to practice practical skills.
Certificates
On successful completion of this course, you will be issued with a St John Ambulance statement of attendance. This is a non-accredited training course.
Delivery Mode & Duration
We offer a variety of delivery methods to suit your needs. You can attend a Public Course selected from the list below. You can also request this course to be delivered on-site at your workplace or a venue of your choosing. Please contact us for further information.

Half-day session including practical activities.
