Comfortable, casual clothing is recommended in order to cope with activities such as bending, kneeling and lying on the floor.

St John will do everything we can to meet your individual needs. If you require assistance or have any questions about your participation in training, please contact us prior to booking via here or call our customer service team on 1300 785 646.

Some of our courses require students to complete cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the floor in order for a Statement of Attainment to be issued. Students will need to perform CPR (including strenuous physical compressions) while kneeling on the ground. A pillow can be used under your knees to perform these exercises, but they must be performed on the ground. If you can’t perform CPR on the ground you can still attend the course to learn first aid, but we won’t be able to issue you with a Statement of Attainment for the unit.

You will need to bring your confirmation letter with you on the first day of the class, as well as some form of identification (photo ID). Please bring your own lunch, as this is not provided. Most venues are within walking distance of cafes.

Yes. First Aid qualifications that have been issued by a Registered Training Organisation will be recognised. The qualification must be sighted by the St John consultant on enrolment or by the trainer, prior to commencing the course.

A Statement of Attainment will be issued within 30 calendar days following successful completion of the assessment of the First Aid course.

No. As long as you are able to demonstrate competency during the assessment.

You will be given two (2) additional attempts. After these attempts, if you are still deemed ‘not yet competent’, you will need to repeat the course at your own expense.

Yes.

The Federal Government now requires all students to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) to obtain a certificate or qualification when undertaking nationally recognised training courses. This includes St John Ambulance (Qld) First Aid training courses.

To obtain a USI visit www.usi.gov.au.

Yes, Provide First Aid does include CPR training. You can also opt to only complete HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation which, on completion, you will become proficient in providing CPR.

The minimum age to attend a course without an adult is 14 years, and children between 10 years and 13 years of age can attend accompanied by an adult. There is no maximum age.

If you expect to be late to your class, we will need to reschedule you to a new class so that you don’t miss important learning and assessment. If you are running late please call our customer service team on 1300 785 646 to reschedule your training.

Yes you can. It is best to reschedule your course as early as possible and no later than one business day before your training. There may be fees involved in cancelling or rescheduling your course.
For more complex enquiries contact our customer service team here or call us on 1300 785 646 (Available Monday – Friday 7:00AM – 5:00PM AEST).

Please let us know ahead of time if you have any language concerns and we will accommodate you. If you are concerned about your English language skills, we recommend you attend a two-day course rather than a course with pre-course work, as your trainer will be able to provide you with extra time to complete the requirements of the course.
