Blended Online MHFA Community Course

Mental Health First Aid Australia has developed a wholly online course delivery option for the provision of mental health first aid training. This course complements the usual Standard Mental Health First Aid course and consists of a blend of self-paced eLearning and a ‘face-face’ video conference.
Like physical first aid, mental health first aid is given until the person receives professional help or until the crisis resolves.
Mental health first aid strategies are taught in evidenced-based training courses authored by Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Australia and delivered by accredited MHFA instructors across the country.
This course has been designed with increased flexibility in mind, as it includes a combination of self-paced online eLearning course content and 2 x 2.5 hour ‘face-to-face’ workshops delivered via fully interactive video conference.
Course participants are required to firstly complete the interactive self-paced eLearning component that teaches them about mental health problems, mental health crises, and skills to offer initial help to an adult developing a mental health problem or in a mental health crisis.
The follow-on 2 x 2.5hr webinar sessions will be delivered by one of St John Qld’s accredited Mental Health First Aid Instructors via videoconferencing and will allow participants the opportunity to revise and consolidate knowledge and skills in a group environment, and to apply their skills to specific scenarios.
Please note: The videoconferencing component must be completed within 3 months of completing the initial eLearning component. If you already have an eLearning voucher from Mental Health First Aid Australia, please contact us on 1300 785 646 to book your course.
This is a non-accredited course. On successful completion of this course you will be issued a Certificate of Attendance.
We offer a variety of delivery methods to suit your needs. You can attend a Public Course selected from the list below. You can also request this course to be delivered on-site at your workplace or a venue of your choosing. Please contact us for further information.
