Our Certificate II in Emergency Medical Service First Response is designed to meet the needs of workers who provide first response care in line with Australian Resuscitation Council Guidelines. It is aimed at those people who work as an emergency medical responder or workplace first responder.

Building on first aid, students learn extra skills and knowledge to give them greater confidence in responding to accidents and illness in their workplace or in the community.

Note: Students undertaking this course need to have literacy skills equivalent to year ten English.

Training Materials Provided

First aid publications, bandages, plastic CPR wallet card and dressing pack.

Recommended recertification period

The First Aid in the Workplace Code of Practice recommends that first aiders should attend training on a regular basis to refresh their first aid skills and to confirm their competencies to provide first aid.

 

The Australian Resuscitation Council recommendations training in CPR and Provide Advanced Resuscitation annually to maintain relevant skills. The first aid units this course are recommended to be undertaken every three years.
