The Annual Parade honours adult and cadet volunteers of St John Ambulance (Qld) who have achieved service awards. The ceremony is held at Government House each July.
The Governor of Queensland, who is the Deputy Prior of St John Ambulance (Qld), presents adult volunteers with their 12 year service medals. Bars to the service medal are presented to volunteers for each additional 5 years of service. Volunteers may also be nominated for a Priory Vote of Thanks after 6 years of service.
Cadets who have who have completed 3 years of service and 12 proficiency badges receive the Grand Prior Award. The Cadet of the Year award is presented to a cadet who has provided exceptional service to their cadet division.
