St John Ambulance (Qld) volunteers participated in Operation Mercury 08, a major field exercise during October 2008 designed to test Queensland’s response to threat.
The team of St John (Qld) First Aid Services volunteers worked alongside police, fire and ambulance officers and played an important role in the simulated terrorism situation. Mercury 08 focussed on operational response, consequence management, recovery, public information and industry coordination.
