St John Ambulance Health Care Program volunteers assist in hospitals, aged care facilities and community health centres. These volunteers assist patients, residents and clients with diversional activities such as reading, music, craft or cosmetic care. Though the visit or activity may be brief, the benefit is immeasurable.
The program also trains volunteers to assist staff with routine duties. Specific duties are undertaken as negotiated with the facility where the Health Care Program is provided.
